Journalistic Experience 2022 – present: Lead Writer, Bristol Gig Guidehttps://thebristolgigguide.com/author/kate-jeffrie/2022: Produced own zine, Cool GirlCreated a 36-page zine about the role of the muse in Rock music. I printed and sold 200 copies and made a small profit after costs. I am in the process of creating another printed magazine about the progenitors of an offshoot of post-punk music that I noticed had not been documented by mainstream publications. I secured £500 funding from Bristol University’s Global Opportunities Scholarship fund in 2023 and used it to completely fund travel to Germany, Sweden, and Denmark, visiting festivals and interviewing nine bands at three festivals. I am the overall editor but am collaborating with several photographers, writers, and artists. It’s due to be published summer 20••••••23: University magazinesFor my university’s newspaper Epigram, I interviewed bands and reviewed new music and film releases. My dissertation focusses on the Beat writers - specifically Jack Kerouac – and in my spare time I practise film photography and try to travel as much as I can.
