In my current role as a Learning and Development Specialist at Oxford University Press, I lead a range of initiatives designed to support employee growth from day one through to long-term career progression. My approach is rooted in the belief that learning is personal—there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. One of my key responsibilities is managing our apprenticeship programmes, which span all levels and disciplines, with a particular focus on data and leadership. I work closely with both employees and managers to identify upskilling opportunities - often through direct conversations with individuals exploring their next steps. From liaising with providers to progress tracking, I ensure each learner has the tools and support they need to succeed.I also oversee PATHWAYS, our global career development programme open to colleagues at all levels and locations. PATHWAYS is designed to help individuals explore their potential and take ownership of their career journey. I facilitate workshops on topics like overcoming career roadblocks, influencing with impact, and tackling imposter syndrome. Each participant also embarks on a five-month learning journey, giving them space to reflect, grow, and take action.A recent highlight has been the complete restructure of our UK induction programme. I designed a new online module that gives new starters everything they need to hit the ground running, followed by an engaging in-person session featuring senior leaders, product overviews, and a guided tour of the OUP museum. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with new colleagues feeling welcomed, informed, and inspired from day one.At the heart of everything I do is a passion for inclusive learning - especially around diversity, inclusion, and neurodiversity. I love creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued, and where learning becomes a catalyst for both personal and organisational growth.
