ABOUT KATE FRIESEN
I am an expert molecular engineer with a primary interest in developing viral vectors for cancer and gene therapy. My core areas of expertise include molecular cloning, viral vector design and production (gutless adenoviral vectors, oncolytic viruses, AAV, lentivirus), and extracellular vesicle engineering. I am highly proficient in cell line engineering, as well as a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including qPCR, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, Western blotting, ELISA, and organoid culture. I also have extensive experience in human tissue processing, experimental design, assay optimisation, grant writing, patent drafting, and management of translational projects. I hold a D.Phil.(PhD) in Oncology from the University of Oxford, where I was a Clarendon and CCSF Scholar, and I currently serve as Research Director at Icosphere Biosciences, an Oxford-based biotech company that I co-founded.Contact: k•••••••@icospherebio.com, k••••••••@oncology.ox.ac.uk
