Working with internal and external stakeholders and partners to promote, uphold and defend the reputation of Dudley Council and borough. Communications lead for regeneration, trade and business growth.Planning, delivery and evaluation of communications strategies and campaigns across the local authority including enterprise and regeneration, public health, trading standards, licensing and enforcement, elections, highways, environment, children’s services, adult social care and housing. Media relations (reactive and proactive) including crisis communications. Dealing with sensitive and confidential information to manage delicate issues, in conjunction with key partners. Communications copy and content including news releases, social media, leaflets, posters, events photography, audio, video, podcasts, signage, e-bulletins, blogs and websites.Establishing, maintaining, updating and shaping social media accounts and their content. Engaging with residents and stakeholders and sharing information.Producing audio, video and photographic content as well as writing succinct and appropriate copy, tailored to the multiple platforms in use.Writing and uploading copy for council website and other linked websites using content management systems. Creating and issuing e-bulletins about a variety of council matters, using the Granicus platform. Work includes identifying and growing subscriber groups.Commissioning work to copywriters and web and graphic designers. Reaching audiences on a budget, finding new and inventive methods. Working in a politically sensitive environment, liaising directly with politicians, chief executive and senior management to produce fast-paced communication responses and plans. Writing, proof reading and copy checking for reports, documents, presentations and meetings. Producing evaluations and preparing analytical reports of communications activities, based on statistical information.
