I provide specialist traffic and road safety management input to schemes and network management throughout Jacobs for local and strategic highway authority Clients including National Highways; Transport for London; Transport Scotland; Welsh Government; and many County Councils, London Boroughs and Unitary Highway Authorities, as well as private sector Clients.Involved in Smart Motorways; Urban design including tactile paving standards and de-cluttering/pedestrian guardrail removal; airports (landside and airside); temporary traffic management risk assessment; lighting programmes (dimming/trimming/switch-off etc) and many others. I\'m passionate about evidence and intelligence-based approach to risk management and safety impact of innovation. Particular interest in risk compensation with regard to cycling, and in the public health impacts of highway accessibility. I have a strong interest in how human psychology affects behavior, especially in counter-intuitive ways, and have completed a BSc in Psychology to better understand this subject. I have particular interest in how new technology, including connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), will both benefit and challenge drivers, and the infrastructure changes that this will demand.I use my experience in road safety management, and as a widow following a construction accident, to promote workplace and wider safety behaviour, using Kate\'s Story video which is freely available to all at - please share and help keep others safe.
