ABOUT KAT MACAULAY

I am an experienced and multi skilled Shooting Producer Director, passionate about telling captivating human stories, which connect with audiences in meaningful ways. My background is in making short form documentaries and contributing to flagship programmes in Current Affairs, News and Children’s programming As a journalist, my film making is fair, accurate and pays attention to detail. I’m fast thinking and can adapt as a story evolves. I work for and alongside programme makers and companies who feedback to me that I have an ability to draw the best out of contributors and put people from all walks of life at ease. My self shooting skills include operating a variety of different cameras, lighting and sound equipment whilst producing and directing. I am also a confident editor. These skills combined mean that I always have an eye on the bigger picture and how the many elements of a film will come together as a whole. Having spent 20 years at the BBC working across TV, digital and radio I have developed the ability to communicate across different genres with ease, and enjoy the opportunities these platforms and their audiences bring.
