ABOUT KAT ARMSTRONG

Change happens with people. At the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission, I lead work on energy, health, and skills: three areas where climate action meets everyday life. I truly believe climate change is an opportunity for us to rethink how we live, and work out what we really need for everyone to really thrive. We have to work together to do that, and the Commission helps leaders and organisations to navigate the messiness and complexity of working together. I enjoy creating spaces where new ideas can form, where new perspectives bring energy, and we can surface what\'s really happening - so we can find the opportunity and make practical steps. That\'s why I\'m fascinated by what really drives our decisions as human beings. I’ve had a winding career path, teaching English abroad, riding for Deliveroo, working in local government, all of it shapes how I see people, systems and places. Yorkshire & Humber is made up of lots of distinctive and proud places. We are the size of a small country, like Scotland or Denmark, and we have everything we need to lead on climate.
