About Kassandra Vilchis
Kassandra Vilchis has an A.A. in Video Production from Hennepin Technical College and is earning her Bachelor of Arts in Personal Relations from Metro State University. Her film experience includes writing, producing and directing documentary and narrative shorts. She has also worked in the casting department on feature films, short films and music videos. In 2009, Kassandra won 1st place at the Filmanthropist Project for her short, A Thank You from the Heart; a film festival and short based upon volunteers helping others in the local Minneapolis community. In 2010, Kassandra and her team won Best Cinematography for her narrative short debut, Jake’s Card, at the Quiet on the Set Film Competition. In 2014, the music video she directed for \"Fearfully & Wonderfully Made\" by Bethany Lynn Cox won 3rd place for Best Music Video at the International Christian Film Festival. On her latest project, she co-produced & co-wrote a short film titled \"Penny & Claude”. Known as a social media guru by her co-workers, friends and family Kassandra mananged the social media her production company, Standby Productions, promoting projects such as short films and music videos. She has assisted with live social media posting for the EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League) and several nationally known reality shows. Kassandra has also worked with Hennepin Technical College’s Video Program on several social media campaigns for such projects as, “From Wasioja to Washington” and a promotion for the program. Recently, you could find her posting social media on behalf of Peterson Whitaker & Bjork, LLC. Kassandra currently works for U.S. Bank as an administrative assistant and serves on the board for Hennepin Technical College’s video program and volunteers in the local Minneapolis community.
