Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the Global Logistics Division team consisting of 18 in-house and at remote personnel, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of chemical products. Administer and oversee a nine-figure annual spend across all transport modes: rail, truck, bulk truck and ocean. Partner with sales, manufacturing, production planning, quality, regulatory, customer service, project managers and a range of diverse client stakeholders in the personal care, oil & gas, paper, mining and water treatment industries. Implemented costing-down initiatives related to process optimization, supplier negotiations, transportation efficiency, sustainability and risk management that resulted in $15Mil. in annual savings. Implemented technology/digital transformation to drive network optimization and unified processes from multiple home-grown ERP systems into a comprehensive Transportation Management System (TMS). Subsequently improved real-time tracking of loads, LTL utilization and routing efficiency. Continuously monitor deliverables (OTIF, cost-to-serve, leadtime/agility, carbon footprint, safety & compliance, inventory obsolescence) and analyze data to discover new efficiency gains, minimize waste, reduce costs and improve profit margins. Take an active role in the professional development of on-site and remote global logistics personnel by encouraging them to develop new skills that enhance their value to the organization. Provide one-on-one training and ongoing mentorship.
