My position was converted to full-time after I finished my fixed-term contract. In addition to my previous newsroom responsibilities, such as managing the fellowship program in the UK and organising trainings and other events, my role expanded to include- Hiring for key roles in the newsroom - Involvement in strategic decisions in editorial structure of the newsroom - Ensuring that the newsroom was a collaborative and positive working environment- Meeting with reporters and editors to discuss career development- Onboarding and offboarding across the Business Insider UK entity, not just the newsroom - Working with various teams to ensure the newsroom runs smoothlyI wear several hats, and continued to exercise my editorial skills by occasionally working on the Business Insider homepage and sending push alerts when support was needed, and pitching and writing lifestyle-related stories for BI.
