Kashunda Hill is a transformational leader and visionary educator with over 20 years of experience in education. A proud Memphis native, she has dedicated her career to fostering academic excellence, empowering teachers, & championing equity in schools. As a member of the 2025 cohort of the New Leaders Principals Fellowship, she is refining her leadership skills to drive meaningful change in schools & communities.She began her career in 2004 as an English teacher & Debate coach, quickly earning recognition for achievement & growth. At White Station High School, she founded & coached the Debate team, which was ranked #1 in the state during its inaugural year. Her commitment to student success continued as an instructional coach, where she led her school to move ELA performance from Level 2 to Level 5. Under her leadership, students achieved remarkable growth, gaining 3.2 years in reading proficiency in less than nine months.Nationally, Kashunda served as a Fellow & Lobbyist with America Achieves + Bloomberg Philanthropies, advocating for transformative education policies & equity-focused initiatives. She was a featured panelist at NBC’s Education Nation in 2013 and 2014, contributing to key conversations on improving education. Currently, she is a Fellow at Clark Atlanta University, honing her leadership skills in the Principal’s Fellowship program.Her experience includes consulting with Houston ISD, Chicago Public, Detroit Public, and New York Public Schools, reflecting her commitment to closing achievement gaps, empowering educators, & fostering excellence.She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tennessee State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching & Curriculum & Instructional Leadership from the University of Memphis. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. & alumna of Tennessee State University, where she performed in the Aristocrat of Bands & served on the Executive Board of the TSUNAA.
