News Creator Corps’ Trusted Creator Fellowship is a short-term program providing partnership and training to U.S-based information providers who want to level-up their connection to their communities.As the new trusted voices of our time, content creators have both an outsized influence on shaping public opinion, as well as an outsized responsibility to get the information they are delivering to their audiences right. This training fellowship for information-focused content creators is an intensive program of skill sharing and community building, led by some of the top minds in digital media. Cohorts are made up of independent creators who provide a service to their community. The fellowship teaches tactical skills like fact-checking, sourcing, and interviewing to ensure the creators are disseminating accurate information. The creators selected for this program have demonstrated that they care deeply about serving their audience with factual, impactful information and are actively working to fight misinformation. These 20 creators come from 10 states and territories, providing information on everything from politics and immigration to cooking, parenting, sex work, and national parks. Their audiences range from communities of 1,400 to national news viewers of 1.4 million. A quarter of them are bilingual. Many of the communities they reach have been underserved by traditional media.

ABOUT KARY VAN COLLINS
I am curious, inspired, and excited to explore. I love all things art, food, fashion, and traveling. I am an advocate for authenticity and becoming the best version of myself, and hope for my community to do the same. As a content & UGC creator, I love to create dynamic & creative content that tells a story and helps to convert and create awareness around brands & products that I deeply value. When it comes to design and styling, I value creativity, curiosity, detail, quality, and construction. I have a deep appreciation for craft, and love taking photos of and appreciating things that I find inspiring. I draw my inspiration from both my life and things happening around me. I have worked as an Associate Creative Technical Designer, a content creator, a fashion stylist, & an instructor. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Delaware in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design and a minor in Fashion Management. I am an award winning designer, having won the 2019 Synergy Fashion Group award for Best Construction/Craftsmanship for my senior collection, EXOSKELETON. I have experience in Art, Drawing, Sewing and Construction, Stained Glass, Content Creation, Creative Direction, Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, Pattern Making, Draping, Fabric Dying, Optitex, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, Canva, CapCut, InShot, and most recently: CLO 3D.
