I\'m Karthika, an aspiring psychologist driven by a lifelong curiosity about human thoughts, emotions, and behavior. What began as childhood \"why\" questions has grown into a dedicated career in Clinical Psychology.Currently pursuing my second year at Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, I am NET-certified for Assistant Professor and PhD. My journey includes three internships, two part-time roles, and two years with an NGO, where I gained experience in event coordination, intake leadership, and client handling. I have also contributed to research, earning the Best Paper Award at CPSICON 2023 (NIMHANS), and facilitated a therapeutic session using expressive arts.

In this intensive, hands-on clinical internship, I am developing foundational skills in therapeutic facilitation under the direct supervision of licensed clinical psychologists. My primary focus is on the practical application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), where I guide clients through core modules including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I complement this with Expressive Arts Therapy, utilizing non-verbal modalities like art, narrative, and movement to help clients access and process complex emotions, foster self-awareness, and unlock creative pathways to healing.I am deeply engaged in a rigorous training environment, which includes attending specialized workshops on therapeutic techniques, participating in case review discussions, and receiving weekly one-on-one mentorship. This experience is honing my abilities in client assessment, treatment planning, empathetic communication, and ethical practice, solidifying my commitment to a career in clinical psychology.
