As a Hyperbaric Technician, my job involves keeping patient records updated, including their medical history, treatments, and results. I do blood glucose (BG) tests before and after treatment for first-time and diabetic patients to make sure they’re safe. I operate and take care of the hyperbaric chamber and oxygen systems, making sure they’re always in good working condition.I also need to know vital sign parameters and emergency protocols to act quickly if needed. I greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and help with pre-screening questions. I assist the clinic provider with wound care and make sure everything with the chambers is running smoothly by doing regular maintenance, like checking the acrylic on the chambers. Finally, I keep track of medical and office supplies and order what’s needed to keep things running smoothly.
