About Karrington White
As the Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist, I collaborate with physicians and other prescribers in a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center to manage chronic disease states like diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and HIV. In addition, I can practice at the top of my license through disease-state education and medication therapeutic services through a collaborative practice agreement. I also function as a part of the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), improving quality measures that affect patient outcomes, such as increasing preventative screenings for colon, breast, and cervical cancers. In addition to my ambulatory care work, I also serve in a 340B pharmacy where I promote safe, cost-effective medication use for patients. What I enjoy most about my position is having the opportunity to expand pharmacy-led services such as continuous glucose monitoring programs, HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis injection administration, diabetes management and prevention programs, and integrating community health workers (CHW) into pharmacist-led clinics. In the near future, I hope to obtain board certifications in diabetes care and education (CDCES) and ambulatory care (BCACP). I look forward to connecting and learning from practitioners in the healthcare industry.
