ABOUT KAROLINA POWALKA

Karolina Powalka is the founder of Artena Law, a law firm built to support visionaries, business leaders, athletes, and creators with strategic, business-minded legal counsel.Karolina serves as outside general counsel to companies of all sizes, including startups, SaaS companies, talent agencies, and established enterprises. In this role, she partners closely with leadership teams to navigate complex legal and strategic decisions, bringing both legal insight and business strategy to support scalable, sustainable growth.In the sports and entertainment space, Karolina represents athletes, coaches, and creators across a wide range of transactions. Her experience includes negotiating NIL agreements for college athletes, coaching contracts at both the collegiate and professional levels, podcast agreements, brand and endorsement deals, broadcasting agreements with companies such as ESPN, Amazon, and TNT, and appearance agreements.She also works as a procurement attorney, assisting in-house legal departments with the negotiation of commercial contracts. Over the course of her career, Karolina has negotiated agreements with more than half of the Fortune 100, advising on risk allocation, leverage, and alignment across sophisticated counterparties.Across her practice, Karolina is known for delivering clear, practical legal guidance that empowers clients to make informed decisions.Beyond her legal practice, Karolina serves on the Board of FAR Therapeutic Arts and Recreation, where she chairs the organization’s Advocacy Committee, supporting expanded access to creative and recreational therapy for individuals with disabilities.
