ABOUT ABHISHEK KARN
Civil Engineer and Building Energy Consultant with more than 7 years of comprehensive experience across building design, energy efficiency, building energy simulations, and construction management. My background combines technical expertise and hands-on experience, allowing me to approach projects with both strategic vision and practical insight.I hold a Master’s degree in Energy Efficient Buildings from IOE, Pulchowk Campus—a field with immense potential to drive sustainable growth in Nepal and globally. In the Project funded by the European Union, Building Energy Efficiency in Nepal (BEEN), I had an opportunity to work as a Project Engineer and Co-Ordinator of Lumbini Province leading 21 municipalities. I have already capacitated more than MSMEs from the various building industry that includes Engineers and Architects, Contractors, Mason, HVAC and RE professionals, Door/Window fabricators. We also developed with the financial institutions and developed various financial instruments in the building sector. Apart from the EU funded project, I have worked in urban development sector, structural designing, project planning and management at EDI. The importance of sustainability, green design, and energy-efficient buildings is undeniable, as we advance toward resilient, sustainable cities and communities, as emphasized by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.SDGs that I have worked on till date:Goal 5: Gender equalityGoal 7: Affordable and clean energyGoal 9: Industry innovation infrastructureGoal 11: Sustainable cities and communitiesGoal 12: Responsible consumption and productionGoal 13: Climate actionMy core competencies include civil engineering, structural design, energy-efficient building design, energy analysis, project leadership and management, and project planning.
