ABOUT KARMEN BOOKER
I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a deep fascination for how the brain shapes behavior, learning, and communication. I am passionate about helping children and families with developmental and behavioral needs build meaningful skills that improve their quality of life. My work in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on developing individualized, evidence-based programs that strengthen communication, adaptive skills, and long-term independence for both clients and their families.I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where I served as Executive Vice President of my chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed professional business fraternity. This experience strengthened my interest in leadership, collaboration, and community involvement.I later received my master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University, where I was inducted into Psi Chi. My academic training deepened my interest in the science of behavior and the complex ways the brain influences how we learn, communicate, and interact with the world.Throughout my career, I have worked closely with families, technicians, and multidisciplinary teams to implement compassionate and effective behavioral interventions. I value an approach to ABA that balances strong clinical data with patience, empathy, and respect for each individual’s unique learning style. In addition to clinical work, I have a strong interest in leadership and program development within ABA. I am passionate about helping expand access to high-quality behavioral services while maintaining ethical, evidence-based, and client-centered care.My personal values are rooted in faith, service, and community. I also serve as the youth director for my church, where I lead a mentorship program and organize community outings that foster connection and growth. These experiences continue to shape my belief that strong communities are built through encouragement, service, and investing in the next generation.
