ABOUT KARMELITA MOORE

I have spent a good part of my profession connecting with and counseling teens and adult women who have been in domestic violence relationships, entangled in human trafficking, or who have been subjected to human trafficking and trauma experiences. My passion has always been to support members of society who have experienced trauma, who have challenges with substance use, and who may be suffering silently from the symptoms of mental illness. My work with clients considers the whole person, encompassing mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to hold space where clients can become empowered and live out their wholehearted stories. My eclectic approach incorporates TF-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness approaches, as well as drawing from other modalities when appropriate. I offer practices to support you on your journey of healing, personal growth, and transformation.I am dedicated to making a trauma-informed approach to treatment that is built on making counseling a collaborative process as clients look to understand their lives.Recently drawing on my passion as an Infant and Early Child Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) with WI-AIMH (Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health, where the focus is social-emotional learning and relationship-based practices through raising public awareness, providing resources for professional development, and advocating for policies that are in the best interest of infants, young children, and their families.
