Wealth Builds is an innovative initiative for youth created to narrow the wealth gap and transform the U.S. economy. Developed by Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ), Wealth Builds is being piloted in Central Harlem in New York City and will be scaled in up to ten additional U.S. cities over the next six years; the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) is one of two organizations selected to participate in the initial roll-out.Building on its foundational cradle-to-career pipeline, HCZ developed Wealth Builds, which leverages asset boosts combined with financial education to meaningfully connect thousands of young people to a pathway to social and economic mobility. Wealth Builds will increase the net worth of youth and families and significantly reduce or eliminate the $24.8K racial wealth gap between Blacks and whites aged 18-34.
