ABOUT KARLA LEONTE
I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at the Illinois Institute of Technology, driven by a passion for design, innovation, and systems that merge mechanical precision with real-world functionality. My experience spans from developing CAD models and manufacturing drawings for power systems at La Marche Manufacturing, to leading multidisciplinary student projects that integrate MATLAB simulations, Arduino programming, and rapid prototyping.Beyond technical work, I take pride in being an active member of my campus community by serving as a Resident Advisor, TA for an introductory MATLAB programming class, an executive board member in ASME and SWE, and a member of the Women\'s Volleyball team on campus. These roles have strengthened my communication, project management, and problem-solving skills, as well as my ability to collaborate across diverse teams.With a growing interest in aerospace systems, sustainable design, and automation, I’m always looking for opportunities to apply engineering principles toward innovative, impactful solutions.
