About Karla Bachmann

Karla Bachmann is the Vice President of Financial Wellness Services at Branches. Using a Human-Centered approach, she leads the development and implementation of transformative programs and services that promote equitable financial opportunities and asset building. She is a firm believer in a family centric and holistic approach of service delivery that promotes building social capital and integrates financial, education and health services for participants to achieve stability and financial success. Mrs. Bachmann has spent the last 20 years of her life working towards social equity, economic stability and racial justice for new immigrant and disproportionately under-resourced communities, reaching across different sectors, building relationships between groups unfamiliar to one another, to partner and design solutions to complex social issues. She co-authored the book My Family, My Self- The Latino Guide to Emotional Well-Being. Hazelden Publications, 2014. A culturally sensitive guide specific to the emotional health of Latinos, with a focus on family, in navigating the psychological, social, and cultural challenges faced after immigrating to America. This guide provides behavioral and emotional health insights and resources that honor and employ the strengths of Latino culture and their communities. Through the years, she has developed truly innovative service delivery models that are both linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive with a holistic approach to family wellbeing. Some of the programs have been recognized by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, The National Council of La Raza, LISC and Ascend at the Aspen Institute. Mrs. Bachmann is currently a Florida Prosperity Partnership- FPP Board Member. She has served as a Board Member of El Colegio Charter School, founding member of the MN Scott Carver County Financial Empowerment Collaborative, Member of UnidosUs (NCLR) Workforce Development Advisory Council and 2Gen advisory group, Member of Minnesota Health Equity Working Committee Member of the Minnesota Emerging Workforce Coalition, Integral member of the Minnesota Asset Building Coalition. Karla is also a 2014 Humphrey School of Public Affairs-Wilkins Center Policy Fellow and she is certified in Human-Centered Design and Lean Data for Measuring Social Impact.
