ABOUT KARLA ALVAREZ

I feel grateful to be part of G&W Electric. I started in March 2018 and it\'s been a great journey. I started as an Assembler, then, I became a Production Inspector. G&W Electric offers a few apprenticeship programs and I had my mind in one of them. I applied and got the role of TWI Apprentice which helped me grow in my professional field. During my first 1:1with my manager at that time, asked what I wanted to do next in my career, I told her that I wanted to be in HR. She asked me if I was willing to go back to school and finish my Bachelor\'s degree and that was exactly what I was wanting for since I graduated with my A.S. degree back in 2013! I just needed that motivation to push me! I\'ve been taking online classes to finish my Bachelor\'s degree in HR & Organizational Leadership since Fall 2022 and the best part is that G&W Electric is paying for my degree! I currently work as the Talent Acquisition Coordinator and I feel I\'m living my dream. Furthermore, it\'s been a pleasure to work with the HR team. I admire my coworkers and managers, and I look up to them! They are all so smart, and passionate about what they do that the feeling is just contagious. I feel honored that the leadership team has put their faith on me by letting me step into different roles throughout my career. Thank you for letting me be creative! I want to keep learning, I want to enjoy every phase or different parts of an HR role. I know that this is just the beginning of my career and I AM READY FOR MORE!
