ABOUT KARL RICHARDS

Karl is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 22 years experience working for a private practice. Karl possesses a wide variety of experience in civil engineering, leisure, highways, aviation and building for clients ranging from blue chip public companies to charitable organisations.Karl has extensive pre and post contract experience of working on projects procured under NEC and JCT contracts. His practical, hands-on approach and strong communication skills have been particularly effective whilst working in collaborative environments utilising the NEC suite of contracts. Karl has worked in co-located offices both as part of an alliance and individual project setups.Karl provides a full range of pre and post contract cost management services, including preparation of cost plans, benchmarking, value engineering, agreement of contract sums, managing tender processes, tender evaluation and recommendation, preparation of contract documents, financial reporting, managing variations, agreement of final accounts and interpreting and offering advice on contractual issues.In addition to the above, Karl has also undertaken due diligence and fund monitoring commissions for funding institutions and acted as a Service Manager/Delegated Project Manager on a utilities framework.
