About Karl Mitchell

I am creative planetary scientist with decades of experience in research, data analysis, and developing novel solutions to complex scientific problems. As a dedicated program and project manager, I lead and build diverse and multidisciplinary teams, guiding and supporting development and capture of research proposals, and overseeing projects from inception to completion. I have a proven track record developing and implementing innovative approaches to science-driven space missions in formulation, thriving at the science-engineering interface, and pioneering novel approaches that push the boundaries of space exploration. Over my career I have mentored hundreds of early career scientists and engineers, from diverse backgrounds, most of whom remain in the planetary science and mission community.
