About Karl Mehrer
Karl Mehrer currently owns and operates the New York City based company K2imaging, Inc. specializing in renting HD, 2K and 4K projection systems for application in the live event, film and video presentation industries. Karl also runs The K2 Screening Room in Brooklyn. In 2003, Karl and his wife relocated to New York City where the company flourished following the acquisition of several large scale HD projection systems. K2 has been an equipment vendor and consultant since 2003 for the Tribeca Film Festival; clients also include the Nantucket, Lighthouse, Doha Tribeca and MountainFilm of Telluride Film Festivals. As consultant for Boston Light and Sound, K2 has worked at Sundance, the Hamptons, Central Park and Dominican Republic Global Film Festivals. K2imaging continues to nurture its live event clients Macy’s, Comedy Central, LL Cool J, Avid and several annual medical conferences for which K2 provides high resolution projection systems for surgical review and analysis. Since 2011, K2 has purchased six DCinema projection systems to support its film festival and industry clients. In 2013, Karl was named Technical Director for Godfrey Reggio’s global film tour of his 4K film, “Visitors”. K2imaging hopes to continue the pursuit of superior quality digital presentation for the years to come with an emphasis on providing high end systems at great value for all customers that appreciate a great image.
