About Karl Gustafson
Karl Gustafson is a Principal and Senior Leader in the HKS Chicago office. He is also the Global lead for our Technical Excellence Group which is charged with proactively engaging Project Teams through all Project Phases to merge beauty and performance. Over the past 23 years his project work has focused mainly on Commercial Mixed Use and Commercial Headquarters Projects in the Central US. He is passionate about sustainability and how we as Design professionals can use the power of Design to create beautiful, healthier, and sustainable projects for our clients. As a Senior Project Architect, Karl is responsible for envisioning, designing and delivering exceptional projects for clients. Karl provides technical leadership and acts as an advisor on his Projects as well as other Projects within HKS. Karl endorses the Firm’s values of character, purpose, and relationships through client service, innovation, and communication. Karl’s Projects have won numerous Design Awards from AIA, IIDA, and Urban Land Institute.
