WHAT I DO: Military and Veteran Services (MVS) aims to give homeless Veterans and their families the tools to overcome their barriers to housing and employment, attain and maintain stable housing, find and keep sufficiency-level employment, and gain access to resources that will help them live positive, independent lives. HOW DO I DO IT: Develop relationships with local social services and public benefit agencies, shelters, and faith-based and community-based organizations serving low-income, at-risk, and homeless Veteran families. Develop relationships with local VA facilities, including Vet Centers and Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) offices; host local informational events; and participate in Stand Down (or similar) events. Work cooperatively with referral sources and maintain confidentiality of individuals served records and other sensitive subject matter. WHO AM I: RESOURCEFUL, AMBITIOUS AND HARD WORKING. Enthusiastic learner, eager to meet challenges and apply new concepts. A highly motivated self-starter who handles pressure well and possesses excellent problem-solving abilities.    Reach out to existing and potential community partners to deliver the vision of the Military & Veteran Center (MVC), with the goal of engaging the resources and having community partners agree to a regular presence at the MVC. • Work with Military & Veteran Services Director to deliver mission, vision and work on partnering. • Capitalize on connections with the Tri-State Military Families & Veteran Community Partnership to determine appropriate partners to engage. • Engage VSOs MSOs, VFWs, American Legions, and outside organizations to educate on plans for the MVC. • Use connections throughout the Tri-State for outreach to those organizations we want to engage. Also look at non-veteran organizations who may be beneficial for our veterans and the center.
