Having already spent over 30 years employed as a Quantity Surveyor, I have amassed a wide and varied wealth of experience and knowledge of Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and Project Management. I can provide the full range of traditional pre and post contract QS duties from inception & feasibility studies/estimates to post contract cost control and final accounts, ensuring projects are delivered to time, budget and specification.Experience:• Experienced in new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects up to £5m value.• Housing – revitalisation, modernisation, adaptations, maintenance and new build.• Education – school extensions, modernisation, refurbishment and new build.• Municipal Buildings including Leisure, Museums & Offices - new build and refurbishment.• Preparing Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Works, Specifications and all contract documentation, ensuring these comply with the project brief, timescale, budget estimates, all relevant legislation, regulation and policies.• Project Managing designated projects acting as a lead contact working closely with and advising a wide range of clients, staff and contractors to ensure a smooth and timely progress of projects whilst also ensuring compliance with all necessary legislation and other requirements.• Prepare preliminary estimates, cost plans, etc. including advising Clients on economical construction methods, procurement etc. to enable accurate costs to be advised.• Tendering and procuring processes using NEPO system and Measured Term Contracts.• Good working knowledge of full suite of JCT and NEC3 contracts.• Good awareness of Health & Safety (supplemented by asbestos awareness, manual handling and working at heights training), having carried out CDM design duties, checking contractor’s method statements and compiling H&S documents.
