About Karissa Nanetta
My goal is to promote economic empowerment by leveraging my experience working with major financial institutions and microfinance organizations in US, Kenya, Singapore, and Indonesia-I am a strategy consulting manager with 7 years of experience working with Fortune 100 clients in banking, insurance, and wealth management industries. I focus on digital strategy and customer experience - in other words, I help companies formulate their business strategies, design digital products, and improve their customer-facing operations. Through my work, customers have a more user-friendly and streamlined financial experience. Building on top of my professional work, my mission is to enable people to live better lives through economic empowerment. I have volunteered extensively to that cause through Accion, Zidisha, Net Impact, and Kiva. Most notably, I went to Kenya as a Kiva Fellow in 2015, where I worked on scaling up Kiva’s peer-to-peer mobile payment microfinance program in order to improve the livelihoods of local entrepreneurs. With my global background (having grown up in Indonesia and worked in the US, Kenya, and Singapore) I look forward to working with social enterprises that deliver greater access of financial solutions or better standards of living to the people who need it most, in the capacity of internal strategy, operations, program management, product management, or customer experience improvement.Beyond the office, I love traveling and immersing myself in nature. I have this adventurous streak that has brought me to dive with the hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos, hike the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and rock-climb the cliffs of New Zealand. Most recently, I took a year-long sabbatical where I traveled solo to 4 continents and pursued photography, which is my other life passion. You can view my pictures and stories at the link below.
