About Karissa Idoko
Karissa Idoko is a purpose-driven youth advocate and a Senior at Abilene Christian University, majoring in Interior Architecture & Design with a Business concentration, pursuing a Master\'s degree in Architecture. Passionate about creating functional, beautiful, and sustainable spaces, she integrates creativity with technical skills using Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite.A firm believer in design as a tool for change, Karissa founded the K-GID Initiative, which connects West African adolescents to design careers through mentorship and skill development. Her leadership and advocacy have earned her recognition, including a Children’s Peace Prize nomination, ACU Servant Leader Award, International President’s Scholarship, and LYNAY Scholarship.Karissa also leads a Girl Up Club in Nigeria, empowering young women to become community changemakers, and authored DON’T ENTER THAT PRESSURE POT, a guide helping youth overcome societal pressures and embrace authenticity.Driven by sustainability and innovation, Karissa seeks to join design teams that prioritize eco-conscious, human-centered environments, creating spaces that serve people and protect the planet.
