About Karisa Meyer
I am a recent summa cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS in Neuroscience. I most recently explored my interests in biomedical research while working as a research assistant in the department of cardiac surgery at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, where I studied the molecular mechanisms of human arrhythmia under Dr. Mona El Refaey. Through my past employment in the Medical Cardiac ICU at Mount Carmel Grove City as a Multi-Skilled Technician, I gained various clinical skills ranging from patient support to lab collection. Additionally, community involvement and volunteer work are important to me; I served as the Community Service Chairperson of my sorority, in addition to working with The James Hospital, Grace Free Clinic, and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
