ABOUT KARINE DESCHET
PhD in neurobiology, I started my career as an academic research fellow both in France and the US. While joining the pharmaceutical industry, I occupied positions in R&D, first as translational research project lead at Servier, then as program lead in the gene therapy-dedicated biotech startup Lysogene, being involved in the clinical development of innovative therapies in neuropsychiatry and orphan diseases. Also passionate in medical communication, I was committed during several years to training of sales forces at Servier and medical affairs at Abbvie for the launch of various molecules, enhancing my scientific expertise especially in immunology and onco-hematology. At Biogen, I took part in global launch of digital information solutions for patients and HCPs in neurology, supervising quality of the scientific content and leading an adboard of international KOLs. As a senior medical advisor at Apellis, I was dedicated to preparing the France & Benelux launch of Pegcetacoplan, a pionneering complement-inhibiting approach, in atrophic age-related macular degeneration, successfully tackling activities encompassing medical material creation, congress coverage and management of medical education events. Passionate, caring, determined, accurate, with a strong ability to synthesize and communicate scientific information, I am at ease in international working environments, while being engaged in cross-functional and science-driven projects.
