ABOUT KARINA GUALLPA

My name is Karina Guallpa, and I am currently a senior at Eastern Kentucky University majoring in Finance with a concentration in Banking & Financial Services and in Risk Management Insurance with a minor in Sales as well. I am a part of Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE), Financial Management Association (FMA), and Society for Advancement of Management(SAM). I am the Director of Events and Recruitment in SAM, VP of Admin for PSE, Recruitment chair for FMA, and VP of Growth in GIS. I am currently employed at Eastern Kentucky University as a Facilities attendant at the Rec Center. In being so involved with all the different organizations I have learned to manage my time well to balance life, my clubs and work. I have learned to work well with others to get a task done. In my time of attending EKU, I have made the dean’s list every semester. I also won a competition called scholar tank in April 2023. With all the achievements I have had I have learned to have good time management skills, be organized, and be good at public speaking. I hope to learn more about the insurance industry in my undergraduate so I can have some knowledge before going into the field. I look forward to meeting more people that are interested in similar career opportunities just like me. I also look forward to the new experiences and skills I will gain later in my career path with the different opportunities I will gain with increasing my network. In my future I want to be well versed in the insurance field and gain lifelong connections in result of learning more.
