ABOUT KARINA ÉVORA
Karina is an equity-minded and social justice-oriented educator. She is invested in creating equitable access to higher education and improving the educational attainment among our low-income, under-resourced, first-generation youth of minoritized racial backgrounds. Karina is especially interested in college access policies and programs for underrepresented students, specifically alternative admission and summer bridge programs. She is passionate about providing information and support to disenfranchised and marginalized groups in order to help them make the most informed decisions for themselves and strengthen their social, economic, intellectual and personal development. Since moving to DC in 2018, Karina has invested some time in improving the lives of Black residents in the District of Columbia by supporting political efforts focused at improving rights and resources of this population. Karina obtained a M.Ed in Higher Education Administration at Peabody College of Education and Human Development at Vanderbilt University in 2016. She recently earned her Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Higher Education Administration at The George Washington University, where she served on multiple committees and worked as a Graduate Assistant for Dr. Ashley Stone.
