Karin Risi is a board director and former global financial services executive with 30 years of experience leading revenue-generating businesses and key enterprise strategic functions. She serves as an Independent Director on the boards of HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets investment firm, and SEI, a global provider of investment solutions and technology for institutions and advisors (NASDAQ: SEIC).Karin was a long-tenured member of the executive team at Vanguard, the world\'s second-largest asset manager, reporting to the CEO in multiple roles since 2015. On the executive team, she formulated enterprise-level strategy, drove client and revenue growth, oversaw talent development, and influenced capital allocation for the $11 trillion investment firm serving 50 million investors globally. Karin regularly engaged with Vanguard’s Board on matters of firm-level impact, such as investment manager selection and evaluation, investment stewardship, corporate and crisis communications strategies, M&A and strategic partnership opportunities. Karin led Vanguard\'s $2.5T AUM Personal Investor business from 2015 to 2020, driving significant growth in the firm\'s Personal Advisor offer and leading employees through a multi-year business transformation. Karin is known as a leader who sets a vision and drives strategy to execution — with a proven track record leading large-scale business and technology transformations, delivering client and firm outcomes, building diverse, high-performing teams, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.Karin served as a director on the Vanguard Foundation Board and Non-Executive Director on the Vanguard Irish Funds Board. She previously served as trustee of Vanguard Charitable, a national donor-advised fund. Karin is Chair Emerita of Unite for HER, a nationwide nonprofit supporting breast and ovarian cancer patients. She serves as Trustee and Investment Committee Chair for Episcopal Academy, and is a former member of the Villanova School of Business Dean’s Council and the Barnes Foundation Investment Committee. Karin holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from Villanova University.
