ABOUT KARIN FREED

I spent the first portion of my career honing management, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills as a high school teacher who prepared 11th and 12th graders to be the first in their families to graduate from college. I then seized the opportunity to earn a Social Impact MBA and pivot into larger organizational leadership through the Commercial Leadership Development Program at Takeda, where I have since taken on leadership roles in the patient services and health care access space. As an educator, I spent seven years managing classrooms, leading new initiatives to engage struggling students, and collaborating with school administrators to improve employee retention. Now at Takeda, I manage operations and strategy for programs that support patients in overcoming any and all barriers to accessing the health care they need. All the while, I\'m honing my ability to lead teams through complex projects across a large and multifaceted organization. I run towards challenges of all kinds and thrive on solving problems. I\'m passionate about community building and leading people to the top of mountains−both actual and metaphorical.
