ABOUT KARIM CHOUCHANE

I am mainly specialized in biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology though I am interested, to a greater extent, by biological subjects presenting interdisciplinary interfaces or approaches. My profile is strongly multidisciplinary, with an initial education in biology, which I have then diversified through a Master 2 degree and a PhD in biophysics. My varied education and research experiences allowed me to practice a wide panel of chemical, biochemical and biophysical experimental techniques. Among which: small-angle X-ray scattering, protein crystal diffraction, mass spectrometry, numerous fluorescence-based techniques, numerous PCR methods or cell patterning. Moreover, I have extensively used several microscopy imaging techniques for my research, including fluorescence confocal laser scanning microscopy, atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. I have also developed significant skills in programming and data analysis such as microscopy image processing, edition of macromolecules structures, mathematical modeling of biological processes and statistics. Finally, as a significant part of research activity consists in scientific communication, I am fully autonomous in scientific articles redaction and figures production for academic publishing. I also produce clear and visual scientific presentations or posters.
