About Kari Bauce

I\'m a veteran makeup artist who, like so many others, made a career shift during the pandemic. I\'d been feeling the urge to move on several years ago but wasn\'t sure where I was headed. I started taking classes in cosmetic & skincare formulation, aromatherapy, and achieved a holistic coaching certificate. immediately after that, a makeup and skincare distribution company I very much respected posted on instagram that they were seeking an east coast retail trainer. I had absolutely no experience, but I wrote a persuasive letter and soon had the job. I continued my day job, running the makeup department at Verizon Media, and my night job, training retail staff how to present and sell brands, until the pandemic hit.\"Two weeks to flatten the curve.\" Seems astonishing in hindsight that we all believed it. I did though, and assumed I\'d be back at Verizon at least by summer. Those dates came and went, and in December of 2020, the company was sold for parts and the project I had worked on was sunsetted. I had long said that would be my last job as a makeup artist and so I started meditating on what to so next and that\'s when a saws that a friend was enrolled in esthetics school. I called her and picked her brain and decided got apply soon after. I\'ve spent my time since earning my license both working at multiple jobs and devouring as much continuing/advanced education as I can. I surround myself with the best brands (Biologique Recherché, Valmont, MBR, etc.) and the best teachers I can access. My goal is to be at the top of the game and I intend to get there in record time. When I’m not at work, or studying, you’ll find me experimenting in my kitchen, knitting (badly), or out with my husband and our dog. Preferably at the beach, wearing SPF, of course;)
