About Kari A. Stephens
I believe primary care provides a way to reach the vast majority of the human population. Mental health is stigmatizing and scary to many and inequity in care has got to be fixed. Evidence based behavioral treatments (EBTs) can have huge population impact if we can successfully disseminate them. My goal is to promote broad based dissemination of EBTs, while using informatics innovations to their fullest. Adapting treatments as brief interventions, discovering best ways to promote integrated behavioral health, and promoting multidisciplinary teams to improve patient-centric care are areas I focus on within primary care. Whether it is conducting an implementation trial or building new tools and informatics innovations to support care, I am always driven by the desire to truly improve health at a population level.
