Named the inaugural poet laureate for Fulton County, Georgia. Fulton County is the largest county in the state, and the laureate represents its 1.1 Million residents and advocates for the literary arts. The Poet Laureate Program celebrates the rich culture of Fulton County and creates enthusiasm about the written and spoken word as well as promoting community activities and special programs. Laureates are selected following a competitive juried process and laying out a plan for promoting and enriching Fulton County’s literary community and poetry among citizens.
