About Karen M.
Hello, I am a first-gen Latina who obtained her B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology from the University of California, Merced. I’m proudly born and raised in South Central LA with the goal to help my community thrive. I’m currently a Clinical Research Assistant for EyePACS Inc at Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center working with patients with chronic diseases like diabetes. With our research we hope to continue to develop our AI to detect chronic diseases like diabetes and make early detection and prevention more accessible to those of underserved populations. I’m specifically interested in working in organizations dedicated to helping those from underserved populations. As an aspiring LCSW I am eager to participate in experiences to develop my academic abilities, skills and interested in working with the children and the late middle age population.
