ABOUT KAREN G.
I’ve only gone and done it! Left TSB, had 10 months at Leek United Building Society and recently moved onto being a Civil Servant. It’s been a journey and I’ve realised, at long last, where my passion lies so let me tell you about it.* I had ended up in Risk! My behaviour coaching role ended and I ended in a virtual team of Risk Managers. Met some great people, learnt a lot about first line risk and increased my network and now realise that some of my strengths lie in compliance - time to use it * After all this time I’ve narrowed it down to 2 areas at work that I love - learning and development as well as marketing. I love coaching people to be brilliant and am a little branding geek - not ashamed to say so* I’m really interested in how the brain works, what makes people tick and how the little nuances of people make them the great individuals they are* I’m like a sponge - I love learning new things and sharing them wider. I love listening to short sharp podcasts (my favourite being Patrick Lencioni At the Table) and audio books (still working on finding my fave). I’ve started my CIPD in HR Learning & Development to back up my hands on experience* I’m red/controller in personality assessments which means I absolutely have to get things done - most of the time with a smile, laugh or even a dance* I was at my best when I worked with a wider team, focussing on people’s strengths and helping them get to where they want to be. My first Area Performance role did that and it was such a great and productive timeAnd that’s me - at work anyway.Outside of work I walk the legs off my spaniel Stanley (named after the Marvel creator Stan Lee as he didn’t look like a Thor), lift heavy weights at the gym and steal any time I can with my teenage son. How do you balance your life? Message me if something in here resonates with you - or if you have a job opportunity that you think I would like.Learning & Development | Coaching | Colleague Engagement | Customer Satisfaction | Marketing | HR | Mortgages | Compliance | Complaints | Risk
