I\'m interested in public policy and governmental affairs. My expertise is in labor and education. I\'m a former DOL Wage and Hour Investigator with 30 years of experience navigating the complex world of compliance with Federal labor standards under the FLSA, DBA, SCA, and other laws. My business is nationwide. I assist employers with their FLSA compliance issues, classifying workers as employees or independent contractors, categorizing them properly under all of the different possible exemptions, and solving thorny \"hours worked\" and payroll conundrums in many industries and in public agencies. I help contractors and subcontractors with their labor standards issues on prevailing wage contracts, specifically under the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and the Service Contract Act and FLSA. This includes contract review for proper prevailing wage determinations, job mapping, identifying applicable exemptions, payroll review, setting up compliance processes for prime contractors and subcontractors, training, dealing with conformance issues and collective bargaining agreements, and interacting with state and federal agencies.
