ABOUT KAREN AUGUST

As a highly organized professional with 20 years of non-profit leadership experience, I bring a unique set of skills to any role I undertake. My recent experience in the constituency office of a Federal Cabinet Minister naturally built on my capacity-building role within the not-for-profit sector and my desire to create meaningful change in my community and beyond. I bring a natural enthusiasm and clarity of communication to my work, and as my role with the Honourable Maryam Monsef wound down, I was so fortunate to have an opportunity to bring my skills and energy to bear on a new adventure with The Dennis Group. I have extensive managerial experience in the non-profit sector and a record of success in achieving key growth targets; through sound fiscal management and innovative strategic partnerships and initiatives. Before joining the Chamber of Commerce in 2012, I led the growth of a small, independent charitable organization through a stabilization process, and then onto a 10 million dollar capacity building project. I excel at bringing creativity, lateral thinking and passion to the projects that I undertake. As a strategic thinker and project leader at heart, I\'m drawn to growth initiatives that are about community building in the broadest sense.
