ABOUT KAREN STEEL

I litigate complex commercial disputes on behalf of a variety of clients, including financial institutions, hedge funds, private equity firms, and high net worth individuals, as well as foreign clients that have U.S-based litigation. My practice involves diverse areas of law, including securities fraud, contracts, employment, and intellectual property. I have substantial experience in federal and state court, both at the trial and appellate level, and in arbitration hearings.I have also spoken, written, and advised on issues involving technology and the law, including privacy and data security and electronic discovery. I have earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).I am committed to using my legal skills for the benefit of the New York community. I serve on the board of directors of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) and, prior to my board membership, served as the co-chair of NYLPI\'s Pro Bono Advisory Committee. I have litigated actions involving environmental justice and domestic violence issues, and received the Sanctuary for Families award for excellence in pro bono advocacy.
