I qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and joined Balfour + Manson in 2017. Since then I have advised on a wide range of personal and family issues. I am an expert in personal injury trusts, wills, estate and succession planning, inheritance tax mitigation, the law concerning incapacity and executry administration. I regularly assist clients in organising their personal affairs, the setting up and administrating trusts, including personal injury trusts and charities.I am recognised as one of Scotland’s leading legal advisers on personal injury trusts. I am frequently asked for formal opinions by Counsel, other solicitors and financial institutions. In addition I often speak on this area and enjoy increasing awareness of the importance of such trusts. I also have particular experience catering for the needs of elderly and disabled clients and advise on all aspects of incapacity planning, including powers of attorney, intervention and guardianship orders. I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, an accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly, a Writer to the Signet, and accredited specialist in trust, incapacity and mental disability law and formerly lectured a 10 week course of inheritance tax.
