ABOUT KAREN P. WILLIAMS

With over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, cyber risk management, and security strategy—including 19 years supporting the Department of Defense—I’ve built a career at the intersection of technical expertise, workforce development, and community connection.Currently, I serve as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Five Stones Research Corporation, where I provide mission-critical cybersecurity support to the U.S. government in the defense sector. In this role, I help lead efforts in system security engineering, risk assessments, cyber acquisition, and compliance initiatives that protect national defense systems.I’m also the Founder and CEO of Cyber Brews LLC, a cybersecurity training and networking company known for its “Mind Melding for Cyber Professionals” approach. Through Cyber Brews, I lead initiatives that connect, empower, and elevate cyber professionals—offering hands-on workshops, strategic partnerships, and events that support professional growth and business resilience.As an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business, I teach Cybersecurity Management and Information Systems Strategy, helping shape the next generation of cyber leaders.
