ABOUT KAREN NEAL
As the Executive Director of the NACD Heartland Chapter, I lead the educational programming and operations for over corporate directors across five states: Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. I work collaboratively with the board, NACD\'s national office, and our chapter sponsors to deliver value-added services, programs, and resources that address emerging issues and best practices in board leadership and governance. With over 16 years of experience in the nonprofit and legal sectors, I have developed substantial expertise in people and project leadership, program and project management, communication, and relationship building. I hold a Master of Public Administration with a dual emphasis in Nonprofit Management and Urban Policy and Administration, a Professional Fundraising Certificate, and a Digital Event Strategist Certification. I am a people\'s advocate and passionate about advancing board excellence and diversity in the Heartland region and beyond to make companies better for the communities and people they serve.
