We provide avocados, fresh fruits, and plant-based products to retail, foodservice, and wholesale customers worldwide. Operating in 17 countries with over colleagues across five continents, we’re proud of our heritage and our global reach. In Autumn 2025, I took on the role of developing and leading the strategic People and Culture agenda and recently also assumed responsibility for overseeing the executive leadership of the transformation plan.

ABOUT KAREN MCEWAN
Strategic and commercial executive with over 30 years in food retail, I’ve held senior leadership roles as CEO, COO, and CPO across some of the UK’s most recognised retail brands—including Tesco PLC and McColl’s Retail Group. I specialise in leading business transformation, cultural change, and operational excellence, with a track record of delivering multimillion-pound cost efficiencies and building high-performing teams.Currently, I serve as a Non-Executive Director and Committee Chair at Chelmer Housing Partnership and mentor through the Girl Guiding Association. I am a founding member of CHIEF, a network for women executive leaders, and actively support aspiring HR Leaders through an Academy. I am passionate about developing talent, especially supporting women to progress into senior leadership roles.In 2022, I was honoured to be recognised in Korn Ferry’s CEO succession report as one of thirteen female CEOs appointed in UK retail businesses. I continue to speak at leadership forums and champion inclusive, people-first business strategies.
